How to Clean Kids Dome Cashmere Hats

Cleaning a dome cashmere hat is a delicate task. Gently clean it with a brush, use tape or a lint roller to remove dirt and dust, and wipe clean with a dry cloth. If drying the sweatband doesn't effectively refresh your hat, wash it. Avoid getting water anywhere other than the sweatband. Gently scrub the sweatband with a toothbrush, water, and a mild soap such as shampoo. Rinse the sweatband carefully and dry the cap.

Store the hat in a cool place to keep it in good shape. Heat can cause the sweatband to shrink, making the hat unfit. For example, a foyer might be an excellent place if the area is moderately heated.

Purchase a cashmere treatment spray to protect your hat. These sprays protect against rain and stains. Use these sprays to extend the shelf life of your hat.

Avoid touching the top (crown) when putting on and taking off the hat. Grease from your fingers or hands can transfer to the felt and leave a stain. Instead, hold the hat gently by the brim.
